Parking and Traffic Safety
The construction of the new school is continuing and our parking lot and drop-off area is changing again. Please note that the parking areas are for parking only. Please do not drive through and drop off in these areas. Note that the new entrance to our parking lot is at the North end, near Canada Way, and the exit is at the South, in front of City Hall. We encourage students to walk, take public transit, and to allow for more time to get to and from school. We ask that you join us in encouraging students to pay attention to the safety issues associated with these changes in our parking lot, and in reviewing appropriate behavior at bus stops and crosswalks to ensure the safety of all of our students. Click here to view a letter we sent home with students. Thank you for your assistance in ensuring that all of our students are safe on their way to and from school.

As another year has started we hope all our students have either continued their health and fitness goals from last year or are ready to set new ones. To assist students in meeting the Daily Physical Activity requirement, Burnaby Central will be providing a number of excellent opportunities to get fit and have some fun.
As a reminder, the activity goals for each grade are:
Grade 8 & 9 – 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per day.
Grade 10 to 12 – 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per week.
Students can choose a number of different activities in addition to their PE class to help them reach these goals. For more information, visit the very informative link to the Ministry of Education’s presentation on Daily Physical Activity by clicking here. In addition to our Physical Education Program, our school’s activity schedule for this fall is below:
